Starting with a small group of enthusiasts, Petr Horálek has built one of the largest networks of influencers and a breeding ground for talented creators in Central Europe. Over the course of six years, the WELOVEFUN team has collaborated with hundreds of brands and delivered over 500 million organic views to its partners across digital platforms.
Successful projects sometimes start with a setback. In early 2020, Petr Horálek lost his TikTok account. For a creator who had been doing well on social media during the pandemic and whose fan base was growing steadily, this was an unpleasant shock. He had two options: either give up on the app, or turn the unpleasant experience into an opportunity to launch a project that would go beyond the capabilities of a single person. He chose the second option.
“From the very beginning, my goal has been to create an ecosystem where we can connect with other creators and support one another,” says Horálek. “We operate as a label that helps creatives launch and develop their careers in the online space. We strive to create a family-like environment—in many ways, we’re similar to a soccer club,” is how the former professional football player describes what the label does.
Today, the WELOVEFUN team has grown from its original 12 members into a community of hundreds of fascinating individuals. “Because we maintain close contact with creators, we’re able to facilitate truly effective collaborations based on detailed analyses of the communities that various creators have built around themselves, as well as a solid understanding of their personal lives and plans,” states Horálek.
In addition to individual influencers’ channels, the label has established a media presence on social media for its own branded content—an extraordinary achievement that ranks it among the most prominent players in the Czech market. “I’m especially proud of the fact that in six years, we haven’t spent a single crown on advertising. We’re building our reach purely organically, through high-quality content,” boasts Horálek. According to Horálek, the Czech influencer marketing scene is stagnating.
“It relies on short-term campaigns and quick results without a systematic approach. Success is often measured by a single number and a single week. We see creators who have a large reach, but after a few months they’re burned out and want to quit. That’s bad for them and for the brands,” he believes. WELOVEFUN is trying to do something different. “Audience and creator fatigue is driving a demand for authenticity and long-term solutions. The difference between a single viral video and an influencer who remains effective over the long term is fundamental. Brands no longer want to leave things to chance; a sustainable model makes sense both economically and on a human level.“
